The Kolyai (Koljaie, Songhor) is being produced by the hands of the Kurdish nomads in the
western part of Persia. Before the commercialization of the carpet the nomads had practical
benefits such as blankets, Saddle blankets, dowry and nest egg. Medallions in combination
with Hexagon and geometric is how the nomadic patterns can be design. Dark colors like black,
deepredrusted, dark blue dominate next accent colors like green, mustard yellow and pink.
The Songhor highlights is brown and sand tones with blue and pink harmonizing from other Kolyais.
Soft wool is on Cotton with a knot density of 90-150 TKnt/sqm is processed.
